5/8/15 The Queen Bee

Uncle Rick made an interesting discovery when he took apart the top portion of Jamie’s old swing set. Under the plastic eaves, he found a large beehive. There weren’t any bees in it, but several big ones flew around the vicinity. He said they probably were upset that their hidey-home was revealed!

Jamie got a picture of the Queen Bee. It’s a little blurry as she was flying pretty fast, but you can see how ginormous she is!

No bees were harmed, and there is still plenty of room for them to make new homes. It was pretty clever of them to make the hive in the very tip-top of the eaves. It was sheltered from rain, sun, and any predators. They are flying around in the back yard, and I’ve been chasing them, but Mom told me not to.

Mom and I have had a pretty relaxing day. We sat out in the yard for a while, and Laurel came by for a walk and company. It’s always good to see her!

I found my giant stick and had a nice chew and a sunbathe. Mom had a bath and had to hang her foot out of the tub so that the bandages would not get wet.

Mom is doing well. The doctor’s appointment yesterday went fine. She says her foot feels much better than it did before surgery. She can’t wait to start driving. She’s getting a little stir crazy.

Woof! Love, Maggie

You have to be kind to your mom, not just because Mother’s Day is on Sunday but because of her owie and not being able to drive. I’m sure just seeing you and all your wonderfulness is helping her get better much faster. You’re such a good puppy Maggie. I just know you are the reason she’s doing so well. πŸ™‚ Arf.

(sniffs) You know, I tend to agree. Because Mom surely isn’t listening to the doctor. I know the only reason she’s getting better is because I’m watching her. Silly human, she is. Woof! πŸ˜‰
